Our story

We’re two friends who have known each other for over 10 years — even though our paths had crossed long before that.

We grew up in the same environment, went to the same schools just a few years apart, and eventually met through a mutual friend. Since then, we’ve shared a lot of the same interests from sports and travel to reading and building ideas together.

Our backgrounds are in business, but our day-to-day lives are quite different. One of us works as a barber, the other creates content online - and that mix of creativity and practicality is what shapes how we build Buddy Mail. More than anything, Buddy Mail is built on curiosity, creativity, and a genuine desire to create something meaningful — something kids enjoy and parents feel good about.

We often find ourselves talking about our childhood and how lucky we were to grow up when we did. Before screens were everywhere, our days were filled with simple things that felt exciting at the time. We spent time running outside with friends until it got dark, making up our own adventures. We grew up alongside technology rather than “on it” and even got to experience the joy of receiving our own mail. Whether it was a magazine subscription or a postcard from a relative.

Those moments felt big. They stayed with us.

But when we look at younger kids today, our siblings, cousins, and others - we see something different. So much of their time is fast, digital, and fleeting. Instead of getting a book kids get tablets, instead of playing with LEGOs they play Minecraft.

And we started to wonder… What if kids could receive real letters filled with stories, just like in the old days — but even more exciting?

Not emails. Not apps.
Real letters — addressed to them.

That’s how Theo and his robot friend were created, and how Buddy Mail began.

We wanted to create characters that children could follow, grow with, and look forward to every month. Each letter is part of a bigger journey — full of imagination, discovery, and fun. But we didn’t stop at stories. We added puzzles, activities, and fun facts to make each letter interactive — something kids don’t just read, but experience.

Our mission

At Buddy Mail, our mission is simple:

To make children excited about reading again and provide a way for families to connect through engaging play.

In a world full of screens, we wanted to create something different — something slower, more personal, and a little bit magical.

We believe that opening a letter addressed just to you…
feeling the paper, reading a story, solving puzzles…
is an experience every child should have.

We’re here to (hopefully) turn reading into an adventure
